How to wear a wrap dress

Hi friends! I hope you have been doing well. I recently watched The Conjuring 2 and I absolutely loved it! I usually don't fall for jump scares but I did jump a couple of times throughout the movie. However, I thought the end was very anticlimatic. But everything else was pretty good; I was definitely at the edge of my seat most of the time!

Today's review is on this lovely taupe floral wrap dress from MakemechicMakemechic is a new sister site of Shein! I received an order confirmation email on June 15th and the dress arrived on June 23rd. As always it was packaged securely.

When I saw this dress on Makemechic's website, I fell in love with the color and design. I am slowly trying colors out of my comfort zone (AKA black, blue, pink, red, grey) and I am really happy to say that this dress is so cute. It looks exactly like the photos on the website and the quality is pretty good. It is a little thin, but not sheer at all, which makes it great for summer. The color is so cute and I love the floral design.

But after my initial excitement, confusion soon kicked in: how am I supposed to wear this dress? I hadn't really paid attention to the name and had no idea that a wrap dress was not the same as a...dress. I had to do some research (lol) but I figured it out after a few minutes of watching a tutorial (lol). For those who were as clueless as me, the dress is worn like a vest and wrapped around the front of you. The key is to find the small slit at the back of the dress. I don't know if every wrap dress is the same, but the slit for my dress was on the right back side. So, I took the string from the left and drew it through the slit on the right side of my dress and then tied it around my waist and did the same for the drawstring on the right. I tied a butterfly knot on the left side of my waist.

Hurray~ I finally figured it out after struggling and refusing to look it up for 20 minutes. The dress does a great job in accentuating your waistline~ However, I was really worried about the cleavage area of the dress because it does show quite a bit of boobage. I decided to wear a nude colored bandeau under the dress~ I love how the dress flares out!

Here you can see the bandeau more clearly~ I really love this dress because I think it is so adorable.

  1. Ah, for some reason your posts haven't been getting uploaded into my reading list D: but I just manually re-added your link, so hopefully it fixes it. I have been wanting to watch the Conjuring 2, but I recently got sick and I'm pretty much not allowed to leave my house and spread my sickness around haha.

The dress looks so nice on you! I would've probably hard a hard time putting it on as well, it even sounded a little complicated when you were explaining it >_<

    1. Omg the same thing happened to me when I tried to add you onto my reading list :( It still doesn't update and I have to check your page myself! Ugh I wonder if it's a bug :/ You should def watch it when you get better. I wouldn't recommend watching it on the computer cus its definitely a movie that needs to be seen on the big screen :)

I had to watch some tutorials to figure it out hehe but at least its cute~
